Streszczenie

Rola stawów podatnych mechanicznie (w szczególności stawów o zmiennej podatności mechanicznej) w dziedzinie współczesnej robotyki – zwłaszcza społecznej i mobilnej – staje się coraz bardziej znacząca.

Classification of Variable Stiffness Actuators - part 1

Abstract

Compliant actuators – especially variable stiffness actuators – are becoming increasingly significant for modern robotics, in particular social and mobile one. Benefits related to applying such mechanisms are the reason. Many different methods of implementing actuators’ compliance and its regulation have been developed so far. This article is a result of an attempt to systematize the set of existing solutions. It presents a proposal of classification of variable stiffness actuators and provides a description of some types of them: stiff mechanisms with compliance by control, compliant mechanisms with compliance regulation by control and mechanisms involving regulation of nonlinear springs preload. At the end the features of discussed mechanisms are summarised and compared. A description of the remaining types of variable stiffness actuators is provided in the second part of the article.
